Matukarua represents Namibia at vocational meeting

Prosperity Hotel Namibia founding manager Karikuta Alex Matukaru has been invited to attend the 2026 European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB) Annual Convention in Paris, France.

Prosperity Hotel School offering full-time career training on National Vocational Certificate and Career Short courses on mobile training or on-site training.

Over the years it became a youth community Hospitality Vocational training hub, Customer service lifestyle, Dining Experience, youth socialization, and Entertainments by preparing the youths with the required skills and knowledge in customer service delivery and job opportunities through prosperity service initiatives.

Prosperity Hotel School has created opportunities for many underprivileged Namibians who wanted to start a career in hospitality service and management.

Prosperity Hotel School equips trainees with the necessary skills to be able to run the day-to-day services operations of the local hotels, casinos, bars, lodges, and restaurants.

Also, the School trains and motivates disadvantaged Namibians to know more about customer service at a basic and professional level.

The convention, themed “The EU VET Strategy”, will be held from 18 to 20 November and is expected to bring together vocational education and training stakeholders from Europe and other regions.

In a letter dated 14 September 2026, EVBB president Thiemo Fojkar confirmed Matukaruwa’s invitation and said his participation forms part of the Skillserve Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

The project focuses on promoting exchange and capacity-building between European and international vocational education and training stakeholders.

Karikuta Alex Matukarua is scheduled to travel to Paris from 16 to 22 November 2026.

During the convention, he will participate in conferences, working groups and networking activities involving European and international VET stakeholders from Sub-Saharan Africa Kenya and Gambia.

The EVBB said Prosperity Hotel School – Namibia is a partner of TourEdu4All, meaning “Tourism Education for All”.

The convention is organised and managed by the EVBB, which represents institutions involved in vocational education and training.

The invitation provides Matukarua with an opportunity to engage with international VET institutions and stakeholders on vocational training strategies, skills development and capacity-building initiatives.

The project partners had an opportunity in 2024 to visit Prosperity Hotel School and Kambaku Hospitality College in Northern Otjiwarongo and on their last day of the visit, they paid a courtesy visit at Old State House to meet the current President to explain the project and the nomination of Prosperity Hotel School as one of the schools that helps out-of-school, school drop-outs, and 6 communities with: No qualification needed, No discrimination, and No age restrictions for all Namibians.

During the visit, the project partners found out that 2 out of 3 restaurants, lodges, and local hotels employed graduates from Prosperity Hotel School, and this was a recognition of support for the school in the future.
