The much-anticipated MTC Content Creators Awards 2025 has officially unveiled its nominees, following an overwhelming public response that saw more than 12 000 votes cast across 21 categories. The top four nominees in each category will now vie for top honors at the grand finale on 29 November 2025, where Namibia’s digital stars will be celebrated in style.

The Comedy Content Creator category led the pack as the most voted, with nearly double last year’s engagement. Organizers say this surge reflects both the awards’ growing influence and Namibians’ appetite for celebrating voices that entertain, inspire and spark conversation.

Speaking at the announcement, MTC’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications & Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo, emphasized the importance of supporting creators in overcoming challenges. “Just like any industry, the Creator Industry comes with its own challenges for content creators, such as limited brand budgets, access to quality equipment, monetisation issues and the lack of digital skills. Additionally, we need to guard against mental health issues, given that this industry consists mostly of young people under pressure to create paid content and take care of their families in a competitive space,” he said.

Ekandjo added that MTC was committed to elevating the awards into a world-class platform: “Nobody can do it better than MTC. We have doubled the prize monies and tripled the overall budget of the event compared to last year. The people who participate may be local, but they deserve world-class treatment and recognition. This is why we will roll out the blue carpet, recognize, celebrate and inspire future content creators.”

Carlos Gurirab, a partner and organizer of the Namibian Content Creators Awards, expressed gratitude to the sponsors:
“From the Namibian Content Creator Awards Team, we would like to thank MTC and our partners One Africa, Fresh FM and Iprint for making it possible to celebrate the creative voices shaping Namibia’s stories and give the public the power to uplift their favourite creators.”

The awards, established to recognize and elevate Namibian digital storytellers, continue to gain momentum as a platform that drives cultural expression and economic growth. Categories include Content Creator of the Year, Comedy Content Creator, Travel & Tourism Creator, Fashion & Lifestyle Creator, Foodie Content Creator, YouTube Channel of the Year, Best Influencer Campaign, and Emerging Content Creator of the Year.

Adding credibility is a distinguished judging panel, including Esther Beaukes (Namibian Film Association), KP Hoveka (Namibian Content Creator Awards), Pinehas “Zuluboy” Shikulo (Aphrike Studios), Emil Seibeb (NBC Namibia), Envaalde Matheus (Future Media), Kaycee Butshe (Future Media), and director Owen Dion Auala. The final results will be determined by 70% public votes and 30% judges’ scores.

The ceremony promises a night of glamour, entertainment and inspiration, spotlighting Namibia’s top digital creators and motivating new voices to responsibly harness the power of digital platforms.
With nominations now unveiled, the countdown to the MTC Content Creators Awards 2025 has officially begun  and Namibia’s digital community is buzzing with anticipation.
