RASA awards to inspire local athletes

LOCAL athletes will witness history in  the making when top regional sportsmen  and women are ewarded for  their exceptional performances at regional,  continental and international competitions.  Athletes who did well at the 2018 Commonwealth  Games in Gold Coast, Australia,  such as Namibian long-distance queen  Helalia Johannes and boxer Jonas Junias  Jonas, will compete head to head with fellow  regional athletes for top honours at a  glittering event to be hosted in Windhoek  this month.  Responding to questions from this publication,  chairperson of the local organizing  committee of the African Union Sport  Council (AUSC) Region 5 Regional Annual  Sport Award (RASA) Local Organizing  Committee (LOC) Chairperson Irvine Ndjavera  this week regarding the competitiveness  of the regional sports awards said the  event always brings the best of the best, including  all winners of the respective countries’  national awards.
