Bank Windhoek has demonstrated its
dedication to supporting the property
market in Northern Namibia
while recognising the efforts and hard work
of estate agents. The annual Bank Windhoek
Real Estate Agent Awards, recently
held in Oshakati, highlighted the Northern
market as dynamic and ever evolving.
“In 2024, Bank Windhoek financed 281
transactions worth N$226 million in the
northern region, with Rundu accounting
for 109 of these transactions, contributing
N$90 million to the total value.”

Ohangwena governor Sebastian
Ndeitunga says the
region is ready to deal with
the imminent floods that faces the
region.
Ndeitunga says this in an interview
with the Confidente this week,
following reports that the annual
efundja floods have hit the Ohangwena.
The annual efundja floods hit
mostly the Omusati and Ohangwena
regions at intervals depending
on the rain which falls in southern
Angola, especially in the central
provinces of Huambo and Huila.
“The regional council is ready.
Just inform the nation to that effect,”

The harvest season marks a
significant milestone for the
government-backed Ndonga
Linena Green scheme irrigation
project, which is the first to start
harvesting maize in Namibia. As
of Monday, their operations were
already in full swing and will continue
over the next few weeks, with
two centre pivot fields, each covering
22 hectares, having delivered
impressive yields of 9.6 and 8.8 tons
per hectare.
This harvests marked improvement
over last year’s averages of 8.2
and 4.6 tons, attributed to major
investment in new technologies,

Independent Patriots for
Change (IPC), leader, Panduleni
Itula has moved to refute
allegations of authoritarianism
following the resignation of party
members over alleged flawed internal
processes.
Addressing claims of an alleged
authoritarian leadership style
within the IPC, Itula said his party’s
sole authority is its constitution
which all members pledge to
uphold. “It is only the party constitution
on which all actions and
powers exercised by all members
of IPC are derived from,” Itula told

Namibia’s top female Muay Thai athlete, Sonja Simon, has been in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, since last year, aiming to equip herself with the sport, in order to secure international fights abroad. 
This move came after struggling to obtain sponsors within the country. Muay Thai, or Muaythai, is a combat sport originating from Thailand, utilizing stand-up striking and various clinching techniques.
Ironically, Simon is balancing her athletic pursuits with a career as a fitness coach in Riyadh. Her next fights are scheduled for April and June.
