The town of Outapi in Omusati region is preparing to capitalize on its growing beauty, spa, and wellness industry with the launch of the first-ever beauty business exhibition, scheduled to take place in August. The event is expected to attract over 200 attendees, feature more than 20 exhibitors and will be a platform for young entrepreneurs across the region to showcase their businesses and engage with industry leaders.
According to the organiser Zenao Andowa, the exhibition will focus on building strong beauty business brands and implementing effective marketing strategies. She added that the exhibition visitors will be treated to exceptional customer service incorporated with the latest technology.
Exhibitors will bring to the stalls a mix of products and services, including skincare, salon treatments, wellness innovations, gym equipment, cosmetics, accessories and professional workout plans.“One of the highlights will be the presence of Emma Theofelus, minister of information and communication technology, who will attend to support the initiative and engage with exhibitors.
Other guest speakers include Maria Nepembe-Amunyela, a creative director, Ilke Platt, founder of Poiyah Media and Top Cheri, a renowned musician and creative entrepreneur,” Andowa added. She explained the idea for the exhibition came from observing local trends and identifying the need to create opportunities for entrepreneurs in Outapi and the surrounding areas.
“The inspiration behind the beauty business exhibition is the need to shed light on the beauty, wellness and fitness industry. I also wanted to create a platform for young entrepreneurs to network, showcase their products and services. This is after noticing the increase in people who drive to nearby towns for services already provided in Outapi.”
She maintained: “My vision is to turn the exhibition into an annual flagship event. Therefore, the beauty business exhibition 2025 is not just a once-off celebration. It is a launchpad for a regional movement that brings innovation, excellence and inclusivity to the forefront of the Namibian beauty and wellness industry.”
Apart from celebrating local talent and creativity, the exhibition aims to boost local business, promote networking and collaboration and connect young entrepreneurs with potential investors and customers.
