Miss Namibia 2018, Selma Kamanya, is stepping onto the international stage once again as she prepares to represent Namibia at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India.
Speaking to Confidente, Kamanya shared that this new chapter is both exciting and humbling. “Lately, I’ve been focusing on pre-
paring for the 72nd Miss World pageant taking place in Hyderabad, India. It’s an exciting and humbling journey, and I’m dedicating a lot of time to refining my advocacy, personal development, and representing Namibia with pride on the international stage,” she said.
Beyond the pageant world, Kamanya continues to dedicate her time to charitable causes and personal projects aimed at creating meaningful impact. She runs the Innonation Foundation, a platform she founded to promote sustainable development through innovation. One of its main initiatives focuses on food security by installing urban farming units, or backyard gardens, in communities across Namibia.
“I’m currently running the Innonation Foundation, a platform I founded to support sustainable development through innovation. One of our key initiatives is installing urban farming units, or what we call backyard gardens, to promote food security and teach communities, especially the youth, about sustainable agriculture,” she said. In addition to addressing food security, Kamanya is also a strong advocate for mental health awareness. “I believe a healthy society starts with both a nourished body and mind,” she added.
As she continues her journey, Kamanya expressed gratitude to her supporters across Namibia and beyond. “I’m incredibly grateful for the support I continue to receive. It reminds me why I do what I do. As I prepare for Miss World, I carry Namibia’s spirit and strength with me. I hope to make my country proud and inspire others to use their platforms, no matter how big or small, to make
a difference,” she said.
Kamanya’s commitment to using her voice for positive change remains strong as she continues to represent Namibia on global stages.
