The Ondangwa Town Council has successfully raised over N$740 000 through its trade and industrial exhibition fundraising gala dinner, held last Sunday. The town’s spokesperson Petrina Shitalangaho-Mutikisha shared the news with Confidente on Thursday. The event, officiated by Prime Minister Dr. Elijah Ngurare was aimed at supporting the upcoming Ondangwa Trade and Industrial Exhibition.
The newly-transformed the RMB & Wilderness Ride for Rangers (formerly Ride for Rhinos), is shifting its focus towards frontline defenders of the nation’s embattled wildlife. While the rhino remains an iconic symbol of the threats facing Namibia’s wildlife, Ride for Rangers explicitly broadens its scope to honour the human element. It spotlights the rangers, game guards, trackers, and local communities who stand as the first line of defence.

Residents of Katima Mulilo have raised grave concern over the town council’s alleged inaction on unsafe roads which are in a deplorable state, riddled with potholes and are full of dust.
