he Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) and the Administração dos Portos de Sines e do Algarve (APS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop sustainable, green, and digital logistics corridors.
This agreement strengthens economic and historical ties between Namibia and Portugal, promoting connectivity, trade, and investment. It also aligns with the European Commission’s Global Gateway initiative, which aims to mobilize €300 billion for smart, clean, and secure infrastructure in energy, transport, and digital sectors.
The Port of Sines is a key European logistics hub due to its strategic location, while Namibia’s vast renewable energy resources and critical raw materials position it as a leader in green hydrogen production. The ports of Walvis Bay and Lüderitz will play a crucial role in facilitating exports and boosting regional trade.
