The final round of the FNB Women’s Super League (WSL) season will conclude on Saturday, 30 May, with defending champions Mighty Gunners Ladies and FC Ongos locked in a thrilling title race.
Gunners currently lead the standings with 53 points from 21 matches, just one point ahead of former champions Ongos, who sit second on 52 points after playing the same number of games.
Gunners’ final fixture will be against the unpredictable and dangerous Windhoek City at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek, with kick off scheduled for 16h00. Windhoek City are seventh on the table with 30 points. FC Ongos, meanwhile, will face eighth placed Julinho Athletic, who have collected 27 points this season.
Their match will also kick off at 16h00 at the Julinho Athletic Stadium.
However, it remains unclear where the FNB WSL trophy will be stationed, whether at the Independence Stadium or at the Julinho Athletic Stadium, ahead of the decisive final matches.
The winner of the FNB WSL title will represent Namibia at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Women’s Champions League regional qualifiers.

There, they will compete against other league champions from the COSAFA region for a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League finals against top clubs from across the continent.
Gunners Ladies made their debut appearance at the CAF COSAFA regional qualifiers last season but fell short of progressing further.
The defending champions will head into Saturday’s clash as favourites, boasting the league’s most potent attack with 76 goals scored, compared to Ongos’ 57.
Gunners forwards Leena “Pogba” Alweendo and Fiola “Haaland” Vliete have been in outstanding form this season. Alweendo currently leads the goal scoring charts with 22 goals, while Vliete follows closely with 18.
FC Ongos, who have represented Namibia at the regional tournament more times than any other local club, are also yet to advance beyond the qualifiers.
Like Gunners, Ongos will also go into their final match as firm favourites against Julinho Athletic. Ongos winger Ivone Kooper is the club’s top scorer this season with 16 league goals.
