After hell, came divorce – A shattered lifetime of scars

After nearly three decades of marriage marked by what she describes as emotional, psychological, financial, spiritual, and sexual abuse, the woman says she eventually reached breaking point. In July 2022, she agreed to a divorce β€” a decision she says her husband never anticipated.

β€œHe thought I would never leave,” she recalls.

β€œHe thought I would continue enduring everything.”

But by then, she says, she was emotionally exhausted. Years of alleged humiliation, infidelity, manipulation, and neglect had taken a severe toll on her mental health.

β€œI was going mad,” she says.

β€œThere were times I thought I would lose my mind. I was no longer myself.”

She says the divorce did not bring immediate relief. Instead, it opened a new battle over assets, property, and financial security, with disputes emerging over homes and investments she claims she helped build.

β€œI felt powerless,” she says. β€œIt felt like my entire life was being erased.” She describes years of isolation, saying that while others saw a marriage, few understood the suffering she claims occurred behind closed doors.

β€œEmotional abuse is difficult to explain because there are no visible bruises,” she says.

According to her account, a medical professional who listened without judgment became one of her few sources of support during her darkest periods.

β€œSometimes all a person needs is someone who listens,” she says. Now four years after the divorce, she says she is still rebuilding her life.

Despite the legal end of the marriage, she says the emotional impact remains deeply rooted. β€œHe was my first love,” she says. β€œI gave him my heart, my youth, my dreams, my life.”

She says she has remained single since the divorce, adding that trust and emotional readiness have not yet returned.

β€œThe marriage may have ended legally, but the healing continues every day,” she says.

She also describes ongoing emotional distress linked to the breakdown of the marriage, including disputes over property, maintenance, and family relationships. Her former husband has since remarried.

She says learning of his new marriage was painful.

β€œI saw the photographs. I heard the news. It hurt,” she says. β€œBut I had to accept reality and focus on healing.”

She further alleges long-standing issues within the marriage, including financial strain, alleged infidelity, and family conflict. These claims form part of her personal account and have not been independently verified.

She also refers to a rape allegation linked to events she says occurred in 2009, which she claims was reported in 2014. This allegation remains un- tested in court proceedings within the context of this report.

She says the emotional strain became overwhelming at one point, requiring medical attention, and describes a past suicide attempt, after which she was hospitalised.

Following the breakdown of the marriage, she says she later faced serious health challenges, including kidney failure, which she links to prolonged depression.

Despite everything, she says her children remain her greatest source of strength. β€œI never allowed them to see me break,” she says. β€œThey are the reason I kept going.”

She says she endured much of her pain in silence to shield them from emotional trauma.

Even today, she says, remnants of the past remain physically and emotionally present, though she is working toward recovery.

β€œThere are days when I am okay, and days when I am not,” she says. β€œBut I am still standing.”

Her story, she says, is not about revenge, but survival and healing.
