Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) member of parliament Kalimbo Iipumbu is set to question the minister in the presidency Charles Mubita over the outcomes of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s recent State Visit to Angola and the inaugural Angola-Namibia Bi-National Commission.
Iipumbu has given notice that he will raise the questions in Parliament on Thursday, 29 October 2026, seeking clarity on whether the visit produced concrete solutions to long-standing issues affecting Namibians and Angolans.
Among the issues is the presence of Angolan children begging and living on Namibian streets. Iipumbu wants to know whether the matter was raised with the Angolan authorities and what agreement was reached to protect or safely repatriate the children.
He will also question whether the illegal trade in Angolan fuel, commonly known as Ngungula, was discussed and whether new measures were agreed to curb the continued smuggling.
Iipumbu is further seeking accountability on the implementation of more than 60 bilateral agreements between Namibia and Angola, asking how many have actually been implemented and what tangible benefits Namibians have received.
The NEFF MP will also seek clarity on the outstanding Cafu Canal extension and Calueque pumping stations, including whether firm completion deadlines were secured during the visit.
Beyond diplomatic commitments, Iipumbu wants the Presidency to account for the concrete investments, jobs and economic opportunities President Nandi-Ndaitwah secured for Namibians during the Angola visit.
