… Entrepreneur’s service of comfort and style

By Staff Reporter

What began as a small online business selling blankets, bedding and wigs to friends and family has grown into a fast-expanding Namibian brand with customers across the country.

Since launching “Ashley’s Quality You Can Feel, Style You’ll Love” in October 2025, Windhoek entrepreneur Ashley Mieze has built her business on affordable quality, personal customer service and the power of social media, with ambitions to open a showroom and create employment for more young Namibians.

Q: Tell us about yourself and your business. Who is Ashley?
I am Ashley, the founder of Ashley’s Quality You Can Feel, Style You Will Love. I am a Namibian entrepreneur based in Windhoek. I start- ed my business to bring warmth, comfort and beauty into people’s homes and lives. We specialise in high quality blankets, bedding and a range of wigs. My goal is to make everyday comfort affordable while helping people feel confident and well presented.

Q: What inspired you to start selling blankets, wigs and bedding?

I noticed two things in Namibia. People want quality home essentials that last through our cold winters, and many women want affordable, good quality wigs for convenience and style. Blankets s a and bedding are some- thing every household needs, and wigs give people confidence. I wanted one business that could provide both comfort at home and confidence outside.

Q: When did you start the business, and what challenges did you face in the beginning?
I started my business on 30 October 2025.
In the beginning, the biggest challenges were:

  • Capital: Sourcing stock without a large budget.
  • Trust: Convincing customers to trust a new online brand.
  • Delivery: Managing logistics across different regions.
I started small by selling to friends, family and customers on WhatsApp and Facebook. I reinvested every profit back into the business.
Q: What makes your products different from those offered by other retailers?
Quality first: We care- fully inspect blankets
for warmth and durability, bedding for softness, and wigs for a natural look and texture.
Customer care: I personally respond to customers and help them choose the right size, colour or wig type. Affordable luxury: Customers receive boutique quality without boutique prices. Local understanding: We stock products that suit the Namibian climate and lifestyle.
Q: How do you ensure the quality of the products you sell?
I work directly with trusted suppliers and personally test every new batch. For blankets and bedding, I check the fabric weight, stitching and durability after washing. For wigs, I inspect the lace, density and hairline. I also listen carefully to customer feedback. If a product does not meet our standards, we do not restock it.
Q: Who are your main customers, and what products are currently the most popular?
My main customers are women between the ages of 18 and 45, students, working professionals and mothers who want comfort at home.
The most popular products at the moment are:
• Blankets: Fleece throws and heavy winter blankets.
• Bedding: Three piece duvet cover sets and fitted sheets.
• Wigs: Bob wigs, glueless wigs and natural looking human hair blends.
Q: How has social media helped you grow your business?
Social media has been essential to the growth of my business. WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram allow me to showcase products through photos and videos,
take orders directly and build trust through customer reviews. Customers also share my posts, helping me reach people in other towns without having a physical shop. Live videos demonstrating wigs have also helped increase sales.
Q: What advice would you give to young Namibians who want to start their own businesses?
  • Start with what you have. Do not wait for perfect funding.
  • Be consistent. Post regularly, follow up and deliver on time.
  • Know your customer. Ask them what they need.
• Reinvest your profits. Grow steadily and wisely.
• Do not be afraid to sell. Your product can make a positive difference in someone’s day.
Q: What are your future plans for expanding your business?
I want to open a small showroom in Windhoek where customers can feel the fabrics and try on wigs. I also plan to add more home décor products, expand deliveries across the country and eventually introduce my own branded bedding line. In the long term, I hope to employ more young Namibians.
Q: Where can customers find you, and how can they place an order?
    You can find me on:
