Taleni Suzan Matheus, a mother, entrepreneur, certified Pilates instructor and co-founder of PregGo Investments describes herself as a girl from Katutura with big dreams. She believes that through acting on her dreams, she was able to accomplish her goals today.
Q: Tell us more about yourself?
A: I work full-time at the International University of Management (IUM) as a business development officer. Apart from my full-time career, I am building PregGo Investments. PregGo originally started as a maternity dress rental and photography studio catering for pregnant women. Our aim was not only to take beautiful photographs, but to make every mother-to-be feel pampered, confident and beautiful during her pregnancy journey, simple things like a mini foot spa during her makeup always makes a difference. Today, PregGo Fitness & Wellness offers general Pilates, prenatal and postnatal-focused sessions, outdoor Pilates and corporate wellness activities.
Q: Tell us more about your life growing up?
A: I grew up in Katutura with my dad. From a very young age I knew I wanted to be in business. By high school, I had already started making and selling bracelets. Over the years, I tried many different ventures, including fashion, recycling projects, hampers and events management. I always describe myself as a small girl from Katutura with big dreams.
Q: Tell us a little about a day in your life?
A: My day start at IUM from 08h00 to 17h00, followed by an evening Pilates class. Weekends can include events, wellness activities or business commitments. It can be exhausting, but every challenge teaches me something new and develops a different kind of strength. When I finally have free time, I enjoy sleeping and spending time at church. Church gives me time to reconnect spiritually and breathe after a busy week and a reset hug from my small one to complete the day.
Q: What was one of your biggest childhood dreams?
A: Growing up, I always said I wanted to be rich. Am I rich today? Mmmmm… my answer is I am still working hard to get there! The journey did not end yet! But I have also learned that success is not only measured by money, it is about purpose, growth, family, impact and building something meaningful.

Q: What type of person would you describe yourself as?

A: I would describe myself as ambitious, hardworking, resilient and creative. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that you do not have to have everything figured out before you start. Start with what you have now, learn as you go and do not be afraid to change direction when there is a need.
Q: From your life experiences what have you learned that you want to inspire others by?
A: My journey is still being written, but one lesson remains clear: never despise small beginnings. Sometimes the smallest idea becomes the foundation for your biggest dream. That is why, every day, I continue to seek meaningful collaborations and partnerships with organisations that share our vision. I believe that growth does not happen in isolation, it happens when people, ideas and opportunities come together.

Q: What advice do you have for other women?
A: Do not allow where you come from to limit where you are going. Your first business may not be your final business, and your first plan may change along the way. Keep learning, keep believing in yourself and allow yourself to grow and ask for help. My partner always say start now so that you make your mistake early and learn while there is time.
Q: Anything new that the public can expect from you?
A: Going forward, the public can expect to see PregGo Fitness & Wellness expanding further into corporate and executive wellness, while continuing to grow our Pilates and maternity wellness community.
