The new national director of The Miss Namibia Organisation, Beulah Boois- Beukes said she will approach her new role with humility, gratitude, and a huge commitment to serve.
She said her focus is not on changing what has worked but on building on that strong foundation while introducing fresh ideas that ensure the organisation continues to grow.
As national director, Boois-Beukes is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the pageants, including stakeholder engagements, sponsorship development, contestant development, production oversight and ensuring that the platform remains relevant, impactful, and representative of Namibia.
“It is both an incredible honour and a tremendous responsibility. This role is much bigger than a title, it is about stewarding one of
Namibia’s most recognised national pageants. My responsibility is to honour the foundation that was built while leading the organisation into its next chapter. Every leader brings a different perspective and their own unique flair,” Boois-Beukes said.
Before her new role, she spent years working behind the scenes.
“My journey with Miss Namibia has been one of growth and learning. I formed part of the little sisters who graced the Miss Universe 1995 stage which was held in Namibia, little did I know back then that journey would lead me here. One of my highlights was working closely with Miss Universe 1992, Michelle McLean, under the leadership of former national director, Conny Maritz,” she recalls.
She admits that every organisation experiences challenges, and Miss Namibia is no exception. She however said the key is to address them through transparency, collaboration and innovation.
Boois-Beukes said her priority is to strengthen partnerships, diversify commercial opportunities, embrace digital innovation, and ensure that contestants continue receiving meaningful development opportunities that extend beyond the competition itself.
“One of my main focuses as national director is to enhance the finalist’s experience. I’m 100 percent accessible to them so we can tackle issues head on in a timely fashion to reduce issues post crowning. Success is built through teamwork, and I believe in bringing together partners, communities, and stakeholders to achieve a shared vision,” she said.
Boois-Beukes said beauty pageants today are no longer simply about appearance – they create platforms for leadership, education, community service, entrepreneurship, and national representation.
She said beauty pageants are a national movement for change.
“Seeing young women discover their confidence, develop their voices, and represent Namibia on international stages is incredibly re- warding. Being part of that journey is what continues to motivate me. Working within this industry has strengthened my leadership, resilience, and ability to manage complex projects.
Most importantly, it has taught me that true leadership is about service, listening, and creating opportunities for others to succeed,” Boois-Beukes said.
Boois-Beukes said her appointment is not simply her achievement – it belongs to everyone who believed in her, invested in her, encouraged her, prayed for her, and walked this journey alongside her.
“I remain committed to serving with humility, integrity and purpose as we continue building a Miss Namibia pageant that every Namibian can be proud of,” she said.
