The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has reaffirmed its support for the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference, with both parties strengthening their partnership ahead of the fourth edition of the event scheduled for 18 to 20 August.
The conference organising team paid a courtesy visit to NAMCOR Managing Director Victoria Sibeya on Monday to discuss preparations for the event and deepen co-operation as Namibia’s oil and gas industry continues to gather momentum.
Led by Economic Association of Namibia chairperson Jason Kasuto, the delegation also included representatives from the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and SNC Incorporated.
Sibeya said the conference comes at a critical time as Namibia moves closer to unlocking the full potential of its petroleum sector.
She said the event would create opportunities for investment, local participation, skills development and stronger partnerships to ensure the country’s oil and gas resources deliver lasting benefits for Namibians.
“No single institution can build this sector alone. It requires collaboration between government, investors, operators, service providers and local businesses to create a sustainable and inclusive industry,” Sibeya said.
Kasuto said engagement with NAMCOR was essential because the benefits of the oil and gas industry would not happen automatically.
He said stakeholders must work together to ensure Namibia’s natural resources create opportunities for the wider economy instead of benefiting only a select few.
The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference has become the country’s leading platform for dialogue and collaboration, bringing together government, industry leaders, investors and development partners to shape the future of Namibia’s energy sector.
